Flooring Installation in Southern Maryland

New floors change how every room looks and feels. We install flooring that's right for each space — and install it right, from the subfloor up.

What to know

Flooring is the surface your home lives on — it takes the traffic, the spills, the pets, and the furniture. Venncorp Development installs residential flooring across Charles County, St. Mary's County, and surrounding Southern Maryland communities: hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, tile, laminate, and carpet, matched to how each room is actually used.

When homeowners call us

  • Carpet is worn, stained, or holding allergens
  • You're updating a dated home room by room
  • You want durable, waterproof flooring for a kitchen, bath, or basement
  • Hardwood is scratched, worn, or ready for replacement
  • You're finishing a basement and need the right below-grade floor

Signs to look for

  • Carpet that won't come clean no matter what
  • Scratched, dull, or water-damaged hardwood
  • Cracked tile or hollow-sounding spots
  • Peeling or lifting vinyl or laminate
  • Squeaks and soft spots pointing to subfloor issues

Materials & methods

Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) & tile (LVT)

The workhorse of modern flooring — waterproof, durable, comfortable underfoot, and convincing wood and stone looks. Ideal for kitchens, basements, and busy households.

Hardwood & engineered hardwood

The classic. Solid and engineered hardwood bring warmth and lasting value to main living areas, with species and finishes for every style.

Tile, laminate & carpet

Ceramic and porcelain tile for wet areas, laminate for budget-friendly durability, and carpet where comfort matters most — bedrooms and family rooms.

What affects the cost

Every roof is different, so we quote each job individually after a free inspection. The main factors:

  • Material choice — LVP, hardwood, tile, laminate, or carpet
  • Square footage and number of rooms
  • Subfloor repair or leveling needs
  • Old flooring removal and disposal
  • Stairs, transitions, and trim work
  • Tile pattern complexity and wet-area waterproofing

Common questions

What's the best flooring for a basement?

Luxury vinyl plank is usually the right call — it's waterproof and handles below-grade moisture conditions that rule out solid hardwood. Carpet works in dry basements where warmth matters. We assess your basement's conditions before recommending anything.

LVP or hardwood — which should I choose?

Hardwood brings unmatched warmth and resale appeal to main living areas. LVP wins on waterproof durability and cost, especially in kitchens, basements, and homes with pets or kids. Many homeowners use both. We help you match the material to each room.

Do I need to move my furniture?

We discuss logistics during the estimate. For most projects, rooms need to be cleared before installation day — we can talk through what that looks like for your situation.

How long does flooring installation take?

Most single-room installations take a day or two; whole-home projects run several days to a week depending on material and subfloor prep. Tile takes longer than plank products. We give you a realistic schedule upfront.
